The usual poll. What is the best set of extras you've ever seen on a DVD? For me it would have been the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box set (R1) up until a couple of weeks ago, but Final Fantasy (R1/R4) now reigns supreme.
Either Akira SE, Star wars or T2

The 40 minute unseen footage of Bruce Lee's last film is hard to beat ... its better than the main feature itself and I have already seen it 8 times ... how many extras can claim that amount of views within 1 week of getting the DVD?

Mr Lucas may have been asleep in his 'writing convincing dialogue' classes at film school. But I suspect he got honours in his 'DVD extras' lessons.
Knock the film all you like, but Phantom Menace has a decent set of extras that is among the best out there. No sign of any staged interviews containing the phrases -
"XXX is such an amazing guy"
"Working with XXX was fantastic
or
"I love XXX"

I'm guessing your on about GOD?
When We Were Kings includes both The Rumble in the Jungle and the Thrilla in Manilla fights as extras. A must for anyone with even a passing interest in boxing or Mohammad Ali.

The R4 version of The Dish takes some beating..
Can't believe Terminator 2 hasn't been mentioned yet.

I don't think a disc must be PACKED with extras in order to be the "best" for extras. Many "special limited collectors ultimate editions" are actually full of worthless crap, whereas more modest releases can have genuinely GOOD documentaries and commentaries. I think the "best" extras should be judged by quality, not quantity. Basically, the "best" extras are those that tell you a LOT about the making of the film.
The Thing Great documentary, great commentary track.
The Phantom Menace Yes, a loaded disc, but especially good for the 2 and a half hours of documentary material, and the deleted scenes.
Alien Good commentary, deleted scenes, artwork.
This is Spinal Tap Hilarious commentary, over an hour of deleted scenes that almost add up to a second film!
The Exorcist Great documentary (especially with Kermode edited out!), commentary is okay.
T2: Ultimate Edition The data hub tells EVERYTHING about the making of the film, so is the ultimate special feature.
Erm no contest T2:Ultimate will be nearly immpossible to beat in terms of quantity and quality of extra's!
(I'm referring to the R1 release with 3 version in ...)

So far, since I've been collecting these damn things I've been impressed with-
Castaway
Hannibal
T2
Akira
Final Fantasy
An unusual choice, but I think the only DVD where I have truly watched all the supplemental material and found them enjoyable was The Blair Witch Project.
I think the spoof newsreel and doc really added to the film.
Not saying it's the best for extras, just very well done that's all.

I'll throw the Ghostbusters DVD into the hat.
A great audio commentary, some excellent deleted scenes, and loads of other great stuff.
Shame the same couldn't be said for Ghostbusters 2
I think gladiator is a good disc with some good extras.
Also i would say that T2 and the abyss(R1) are good too.
T2 (R1) and This is Spinal Tap (R2). Tap is shear quaility, 65 mins of deleted footage, its like another film!
