I'm having some trouble with my Blueyonder 750k connection, it seems to have gone really slow over the past few days, I spoke to BY tech support who got me to do a netstat -a command which apparently should only come back with about 3-4 established results, I have about 20, he said it was probably spyware, I've run ad-aware to remove these but I seem to get a lot back very soon after. Also is there a list/guide as to what progs to allow access to the 'net, I'm wondering if some of my firewall settings are not tight enough. any help greatly appreciated

If you're using Spybot Search & Destroy and/or AdAware you can normally safely elimate any spyware they find.
What firewall are you using? And have you tried doing a speedtest to check your upload/download speeds?. There's a good one here (http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp).
You should also try A-squared (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4281.html), Spybot (http://www.webattack.com/get/spybot.html) and i would also install Spywareblaster (http://www.webattack.com/get/spywareblaster.html)
