View Full Version : NBK: DC - French?
After all the talk about Natural Born Killers the past couple of weeks I realised that nobody has brought up the French Release... Is the French version of Natural Born Killers the Theatrical Release or the Director's Cut?
After seeing it for the first time on Film Four last night I would like to know where to get Oliver Stone's cut for a R2 only player...
Any help is appriciated... Matt
You could try this company in Denmark. About £8.25 delivered. :D
Natural Born Killers DC (R2) from Dvdoo.dk (http://www.dvdoo.com/dvdoo/film.asp?Command=4299)
...frankly, I have no idea whether the French disc is the DC or the theatrical cut... taking into account the PAL speed-up, the French DVD features the same cut as the original R1 TRIMARK release, except the former is supposedly a better transfer...

:D Slow on the draw...
Warner distribute it in France so it'll be the original cut (ie R version).

The good news is Denmark have the Director Cut. You can get it for less than £9 delivered from www.dvdoo.com
You'll find a review here (http://www.movieboxen.dk/VisDVD.asp?ID=19) It's anamorphic and looks pretty impressive.
Does this have the Oliver Stone commentary?

Take a wild guess.
...ahh... you forgot to mention Alternativ slutning... !

...oh, and, although it may not apply to this particular DVD, I have been warned that some made-specifically-for-the-Scandinavian-market DVDs (such as this one) have non-removable (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish) subtitles... what this means is that, when a Dane starts the record, he would select Danish subs, a Norwegian would select Norwegian subs, and so on, BUT... none of them could watch the movie without subs in one of those languages... strange, not to say perverse... but - apparently - true... again, however, this may not be true of the NBK disc...

I think the disc has removable (unlocked) subs as I recall someone here buying it.
The subtitles are optional. Can't remember if they default to on when first played, but they can definitely be turned off.
