View Full Version : RCE ? plus Infinifilm.....
I know it's an old subject, but Play list a few discs that I'd like as RCE. Can people post to say which ones are/n't as my Wharfie doesn't like them.
(1) Gremlins
(2) Rush Hour 2
(3) The Fugitive -Spec Ed
(4) The Goonies
Also, could somebody explain what problems people have had with Infinifilm titles. Is the Wharfie 750 one of the players that their discs don't play on?
Thanks muchly :D

I've got the Wharfedale DVD 750 and I've no problems with Thirteen Days.
New Line Cinema don't use RCE!
Thanks Morpheus2000. Has your 750 had the Tesco upgrade though? I only ask as mine hasn't.

I'm sure Gremlins and Goonies are free from RCE. No mention of it on the covers anyway.

Yes it has been upgraded!
I've got Thirteen Days and Blow, neither are RCE. Same goes for Fugitive SE and The Goonies. :D
Can anyone tell me where I can get my 750 upgraded now? I can't play my 13days from Tesco nor will it play R1 Gosford Park

Forum sponsor http://www.dvdchips.co.uk/ will sell you an upgrade chip for £20; you'll have to fit it yourself (and send your old one back) but it sounds like a fairly simple procedure (http://www.shoyle.f9.co.uk/dvdchipsuk/w750firm.htm).

Didn't I read that, far from being RCE encoded, Gremlins is in fact Region 0?
I'm not sure but i think Play list all titles form certain companies as being RCE, even if they are not

Gremlins (assuming this is the 'new' special edition) is coded R1/R2/R4.
However some players have problems if they themselves are R0 as it uses the players region setting for various default play configurations (e.g. if the player is set to R2 it assumes the player is Japanese and defaults to a Japanese menu and subtitles).
