I wish to make an image of my laptop.

I am currently using 9.5 Gig on my C:Drive which is basic configuration and programs. I have a spare partition i can create an image file to. However instead of saving the image to several cd's i wish to store them onto DVD R

I know some programs allow you to burn an image straight to CD. Can i do this with DVD ? if so what do i need to get?

I use ghost 2003 at home and store the image to DVD-R. Ghost will compress the image & can write it direct to DVD-R and include the files from the bootable floppy so that the DVD-R is bootable.
It will also span the image accross multiple DVD-R's if needed.

We use ghost 8 corporate eddition at work. It's probably one of the most useful programs ever invented. :)

jused used ghost 2003. created the image over two dvd-r , need to create a boot disc but out of FD's! Shame it could not boot from the DVD.

I might not even need the image i created, it's a backup of my laptop which i am suppose to be selling on Saturday, but if he don't show i don't want to go through the habit of rebuilding the laptop again!

I created a bootable CD using Nero and put Ghost on it. It asks for a bootable floppy which then get copied over to the CD. I then use that to boot with and then load my image from HDD/insert imaged DVD.
