View Full Version : Panasonic TX-32DK1 or Philips 32PW6006 - You Decide...
I posted a thread a while back seeking advice on a new tv and, following recommendations, ordered a Philips 32PW6006 from www.unbeatable.co.uk - that was 3 weeks ago and still no tv :( I rang them today and they're still unable to give a delivery date. Naturally I'm getting a little impatient and am wondering whether I should change my order to a Panasonic TX-32DK1, which seems to be more readily available (www.qed-uk.com have them at £512.19 which is virtually the same price as the Philips).
So, any owners of the Panasonic TX-32DK1 out there, how would you rate this tv? Is it comparable to the Philips or should I be patient and wait for that to come back into stock?
Help and advice appreciated :)
Anybody? :( Don't be shy :D
I have the said Panasonic TX32DK1.
I am very happy with its performance.
I don't think you can go wrong with the Panny, everyone seems to reckon that Panasonic are Top dog for WS TV at the moment.
Thanks for reply. A thumbs up for the Panny then. I was told by Unbeatable that they were getting a delivery from Philips tomorrow (though not necessarily the 32PW6006), so if there's no news when I call I may just cancel and order the 32DK1.
Any other opinions?

I've got the TX-28DK1. Was unhappy with dark picture at first but a fiddle in the service menu seems to have sorted that. Only other thing is that you have to snip pin 19 on scart leads or you get interference on both RGB and composite inputs.

I've had my TX32DK1 for about a year now and still think it's a great TV.
I put a similar question here before buying and it was suggested that the Philips, Tosh, or Panny were all very good, but the Tosh had slight geometry problems and Philips had a reputation for poor reliability. I bought the Panasonic and never regretted it, apart from paying £700 for it now that I see the current price.

Took delivery of my Panny last week and so far very impressed.
Slight overscan problems and the aformentioned scart interference, but for the cash - brilliant!
anyone know how to get the service menu for this model?
cheers,
Al
Thanks for all the replies :)
I won't be changing the order after all though, as I've just phoned Unbeatable and my 32PW6006 has come in today  Let's hope it's good :D
