View Full Version : Missing Packages from Amazon
I've had 2 packages in as many weeks go missing that have been sent from Amazon.com - has anybody else experienced this as this is the first time in the two and a half years that I have been buying from them that this has happened.
I know that it is not Amazon's fault - Is it actually worth complaining to the post office that they've got some light fingered employees.
I know people who have had the odd single package go astray but this is them big boxes.
What gives????

Oh I always miss 1 out of 8 packages from them. Even if it's 2 DVDs they send in those standard big boxes and they never fit into mailboxes and postmen leave them at the door and some assholes steal them.
Order 1 dvd at a time from them, that helps. Also, they'll reship your order if you email them about it after waiting about 3 weeks as they don't want to lose a "valuable" customer, especially if you order a lot.
I haven't had a single item go astray from Amazon in the three years I've been buying. Are you sure it's not just that they've been delayed at Mount Pleasant - earlier this year I had one package (2 DVDs) take seven weeks, whilst one shipped later arrived first. If only they didn't use those huge boxes...

I had a CD go missing and after a month I emailed them and this stupid guy said that they wouldn't reship until it came back to them as undeliverable. Emailed them again last week and they reshipped straight away by express post. Just make sure you don't get some complete twit who doesn't know what he's talking about.
I've had a few packages from Amazon US and UK go astray in the last couple of years. Most delayed either in shipping and/or due to the robbing facisti at Mount Pleasant.
Oh, nearly forgot, shouldn't this be in the Suppliers Forum?

Yep, same here - although most don't exactly go missing, just arrive weeks after they should.
Curiously enough I've had more problems with import tax and missing packages when they ship via Deutsche Post than when they ship direct from the US. Hey-ho

Out if the last 7 orders from Amazon.com, 3 have been damaged and it looks like my Army of Darkness : Bootleg Edition has gone missing.
I'll give them til Tuesday, as they say it should have been delivered ny then.
It just seems to me that i'm actually complaining to them more than I am buying from them!

Be careful when they reship goods. i usually request that they ship by their normal method if my order value exceeds £18.
Really it's rare for a heavy orderer of any online or mail order goods to have goods go missing some time!
The only goods (DVD) i'ved had missing was Simpsons R1 from Play247 (but then again i don't think they actually did send the goods):(
I've read a few threads like this in the Suppliers forum!
I realise now that this is on the wrong page - sorry about that.
Thanks for the responses.
I'm just wondering how many packages you can justifiably ask to be resent before you begin to take the ******. I've never had any major problems before so it's just strange that this has started happening now.
Kinda worrying though because I've still got 3 more orders waiting to be sent.

Yeah, damn postie keeps leaving them on my doorstep and it's very visible for anyone to nick. What if I'm away anyway?
P.S. Anyone had a customs charge through ParcelForce? Damn theiving gits... have you seen how much they rob from you for their so called 'handling fee'!!
I've had a couple of packages recently that were sent through standard US Postal Service that have ended up going through ParcelForce. Does it just go by the size of the box (were larger boxes) as to whether they go through them or not?
