Hi all
Not sure if this is the correct forum but does anyone know of free Wifi access in Birmingham - specially around the Broad Street, Edgbaston area?
I am sat in the lobby of my hotel paying £6 for an hours worth of surfing !! Daylight robbery I say !!!
thanks in advance

None that I have seen - will look around. I was actually hoping to find out some sort of a open source wifi network. There are a few around in the UK but their names escape me at the moment.

go to info desk and ask if they know of anywhere, if its the little dark hair lady she'll say "we have it here" and give you her password and log in name
works for me everytime
other than that, the weatherspoons pub in the same street as the rail station is a bt openzone as is the phone box outside hmv
and thinking about it, the first class virgin lounge in rail station is free for railtravellers but then you could stand outside it??
hope it helps

Is it just their or are they free net access everywhere?
Starbucks WiFi is run by T-Mobile and costs an arm and a leg!!

(Only £5 an hour so may actually be cheaper than OP's current service ;) )
