Upgrade digitheatre to DTS?

I have a digitheatre DD 5.1 set up at the moment and was wondering if it is possible to get a new decoder that will give me DTS whilst keeping the speakers. Also would I get any benefit from doing it this way or are the digitheatre speakers not up to DTS?

as long as all the speakers are detachable from the main decoder you should be fine - although im not too sure about your sub and center!
what connections do they use??

And do all the cables go into your decoder or the sub??(like the dts version :( )
