Got the info from digitalspy. So is this The Simpsons replacement? FG will be cut to bits at that time.

Just a brilliant show! If you've never seen it, then make time to watch some episodes and then buy the DVDs!

Family Guy will have to be shredded to bits to air at that time.

It will be unrecognisable.

It'll still be cut at that timeslot, and I speak for every Family Guy fan when I say it should be aired uncut at a suitable time for what is an adult animated show, but 7:35pm on BBC2 sounds a hell of a lot better than 11am on a Sunday morning. Channel Four came up with that particular slice of genius scheduling, and the show was cut so badly it was rendered unwatchable. What compounded this idiocy is that C4 didn't even reinstate the cuts when they relegated FG to a 1am slot on Saturday mornings!

I know that people are fearful after the way that Buffy was hacked up by the Beeb, but they treated The Simpsons with a great deal of respect and hopefully FG will get similar treatment.

Hopefully the BBC will treat the show right, and if they do I am very glad they picked it up as C4 treated it dreadfully. I honestly don't think there is much from Family Guy that has to be cut even at this time slot.

While the BBC didn't treat the Simpsons with much respect at first snipping allsorts but they ended up showing it uncut (even some of the more questionable content which Sky cut).

This is good news.

It comes with a great reputation and the one episode I saw converted me on the spot

I can't believe schedulers pick an unsuitable time slot and then have to hack it to pieces.

Yes - the DVDs look great - but some of the amazon reviews suggest they are sanitised versions

BBC Cult team told me there is no deal in place but apparantly they know absolutley nothing so its just wait and see. BBC should air this show are 9.30pm on BBC2, the same timeslot as coupling and red dwarf get basically.

Bahh. I can't think that anyone who likes Coronation Street would like Family Guy.

Would they?

I somehow don't think its the same demographic i.e. your average granny down the bingo will not find Peter Griffin all that amusing :D

I believe there is only one cut, an airport related Osama Bin Laden joke, which has been cut from (I believe) every version and showing of the episode since 9/11, so it's not really a reason to avoid buying the sets.

I know of only three cuts to the US dvd's.

"Chitty Chitty Death Bang" from season one features an alteration more than a cut. Stewie wishing to be the next Hitler, you can hear Nazi armies chanting in the background. they just replaced it with something more generic chanting.

also the JFK Pez despenser joke was removed from the R1 set at least, taken from the first episode with Joe in, "A Hero Sits Next Door". can't confirm whether the R2 is affected, rewind doesn't seem to think so though.

finally the Bin Laden sequence you mention. The Nazi one doesn't make much of a difference, and neither does the JFK one if you haven't seen it, but that one is supposedly intact on the UK dvd's.

all three can be viewed here. (http://www.quahog5news.com/subpages.php?c=videos&cat=other)
