I'm pretty sure it's a limited affair...

I remember reading on r2 project that Momentum said once their stock had been depleted from the warehouse thats it. Game over, no more are being pressed. Whether there's any truth to it is another thing. TBH i much preferred the R1 edition.

Anyone know whether you can still get the R1 edition with a tin case?

R2 metal case is now discontinued, they were all shipped to retailers on day one, but most should have some left

I've seen two versions of the T2 R1 set. I've got the DVD-18 with the metal slip (also avaliable originally as 2 DVD-9's), and I've since seen a version in a silver cardboard box... The meta; slip wins every time!

Everybody just get the R1 version, it's better all round.

I mean I was in Dunstable Asda yesterday, too. Against my better judgement, I may add... I dislike Asda muchly. :p

So what makes it better?

I'm not doubting you, just have the very impressive R2 and can't see how it can get any better!

There's 2 missing versions of the film in the r2 dvd, or should that be there's 2 extra versions on the r1  (directors cut and UE).

The review at dvdtimes (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=273&story=2167) has all the details :)
