Looks a nice package but why haven't they improved on the movie. The r2 release was a bit naff. If only it had a DTS track and was uncut then this (IMO) be a pretty snazzy r2 set.

Its a very nice looking set, if it was £20 I'd consider getting it. BUT it is just a rehash of a over-rated disc and a new thats there to make ammends and con some cash out us.

Agreed, how many copies do Warners think they are going to shift??, i really don't see the appeal in this other than a Christmas filler for those new to DVD.
Shame on you Warner, look you couldn't even be bothered to repress the original disc so it had a nice picture on the front.

You have just answered why Warner have done it - The Matrix is still one of the most high profile DVDs on the market. Marry this with the fact that DVD players are going shift big time this Xmas equals plenty of cash for Warner!
To be honest the original disc was dump. The extras were limited and half were hidden in those stupid little pills. The DVD-Rom content, what can I say, who the hell looks at this crap more than once?. A out of date web site, what use is that?. Of a film of The Matrix's standing and influence (it is over-rated in hindsight, but seeing this at the cinema was somthing else  ) they shouldn't need to do a new disc. The original should have been good enough. Damn right they should have put a new pic on the original dvd's front, it looks like @@@@ next to the new one.
I have literally minutes just finished watching this from start to finish, its only a borrow from a friend so i may consider getting the new pack at the right price :)

This could have been a chance for warner to re-submit it to the bbfc, it may have passed uncut and then R2 may have got the commentery as well.
Come on Warner give R2 the same as R1 or you will nerver stamp out importing.
And another thing warner, stop giving us those shinny side up disks all the time, is it to much trouble to print a picture on the disks like you did with the kubrick disks.
Do it with all you'r R2 disks.

How much?
Yep - even on the Region 4 DVD there aren't much extras, but at least it's an uncut PAL version.
I think the film is mediocre, so I won't be buying the new extras laden disc.
And UK/Ireland still get the cut version - I think the rest of Europe is uncut though.
