alright,

well after living with a mate who had a surround sound setup for 2 years, i thought it was about time i got round to buying one for myself. I've got 200quid to spend and i need :

amp
2 front speakers
centre speaker
sub (if i've got enough left)

I've already got 2 speakers for the rear which will do for the time being. The amp needs to have the right connections so i can hook up, sky digital, cd player and an xbox/ps2.

I had a look on the richer sounds website and found these that were in my price range :

amps
Pioneer VSXC100 (£79.95)
Sony STRDE495 (£99.95)

speakers
Mission M71i BEECH (59.95)
Eltax Monitor III (59.95)

centres
Kef Cresta Centre (29.95)
Mission M7CI BLACK (49.95)

tbh i don't know much about AV stuff so i'm looking for some recommendations on whether this stuff is any good and if there are any better deals or equipment around??

anyway any suggestions would be most apprieciated :)

cheers

I have a Pioneer VSXC100 and find that it will do the job if you're low on space. However it is lacking a bit in inputs.

Not so sure about the Sony STRDE495 but I'm sure I've heard a good few things said about it also.
