Hi a mate of mine is heading to Singapore soon and is offering to bring back any software packages I want. I was just looking for any ideas any one might have, I was thinking Photoshop CS (i'm still on PS6) Office 2003 and maybe dvd x copy ( I use nero's recode atm)

So any other ideas for useful software packages I should ask for?

Although prices in Singapore are cheaper than in the UK, a much cheaper option would be for him to take the bus over to Johor Bahru in Malaysia and visit some of the shops in Holiday Plaza. Adobe Photoshop CS for £1 anyone? ;)

If you want legit copies, we found the best prices were to be found in Challenger in the Funan shopping mall, which is a whole mall devoted to IT stuff

Thanks Andrew the guys actually lives in Malaysia so I presume he'll be popping home for a bit after the conference. I don't think it'll be legit copies I don't think by lowly PHD grant would stretch quite that far. So any ideas for software I should be trying to get hold of. I would quite like a vector based graphice program. Any ideas?

I think
Adobe Illustrator (http://www.adobe.com/products/illustrator/main.html) is pretty much the industry standard.
