Has anyone noticed any lip-sync errors on the DTS track of the R1 Shrek? It's not far out, but it is just noticeable to be irritating (the DD 5.1 and 2.0 tracks seem spot-on). I'm wondering if it's the disc, my player (the dreaded Samsung 709) or my amp (Sony 940). Other DTS titles I've tried don't have any problems...

I have a Sony 930 amp and a Sony 525D player and the DTS was fine.

DTS lip-sync problems are Sammy709 related.

I've read of lip-sync problems between the 709 and a 930 on certain DTS titles (many which I have) on 709online, but never a 940. The only 709-related DTS problem I've gotten so far is the half-resolution image on PAL discs.

As I say, it's only out by a hair. I probably would have just accepted it if I didn't try out the DD tracks as well.

I am still on 3.28 myself - 3.32a fixes more discs probs and also allows the 709 to read DVD-R discs - check out www.709online.com and look in the forums. People there can sort you out with new firmwares if you want one.

TA.

I look @ 709online a few times a week.

as for DVD-R - by the time it is mainstream i wont have a 709 :D

I will stick with .28 then, it has problems but nothing a few cans of beer will make meaningless!

Looking to ditch my 709 myself soon - might get myself a Tosh SD-210e or a Pioneer on special offer from Justin at Upgrade Heaven. Just think that it is time to move up the DVD player ladder!
