View Full Version : The Killers
I don't know how popular these guys are in the UK -- but, they're getting so much love here in the states.
I can't wait to see them in a few months.
If anyone's into indie rock, i highly recommend their album, hot fuss.

There's a bbbiiggg thread about them somewhere.
They've been giging here constantly now for the last year and the last couple of singles even made the top 40.
Personaly i just can't get over the fact that there from Las Vegas yet look and sound like they're from Blackpool. Even the new video makes them look like some 2nd division Britpop combo.

Is LouBarlow living in the States now?
I do like their album, and especially their new single. Album's second half tails off a bit, and the lead singer (guy called Flowers) dresses like a hybrid character of Dead Poets Society and Wall St. Saw them at V2004 - kept expecting him to stand on his amp and shout "Oh captain, my captain"

I can't stand them, I'm afraid, but I have enough love to spread around to even less deserving acts.
I think they sound too much like a lite version of halfway between The Rapture and The Faint to be honest.
I know I'd rather listen to The Faint anyways (Danse Macabre specifically, Echoes for The Rapture of course...)

I love the track called 'On Top' (I think - first line is 'Remember Rio, and get down').
I think they let themselves down though with that god-awful track with the chorus ' it's indie rock and roll for me!!!'
Their new single is great, a breath of fresh air to escape from most of the trash in the charts at the moment.... the video is ok too

Really really enjoying this. One of those albums you feel at home with straight away.
