View Full Version : Inconsistant glitches?

On my r2 "The Terminator", there's a couple of slight pauses( not layer change) that seem to appear on some viewings but not others. How is this?

You'd think they'd happen every time or not at all wouldn't you?

They happened the first time I watched the disk, then not the second or third, I watched it tonight and they happened again?

Any insights?

They happen (sometimes) on the scene where the car crashes into the police station, and again where Kyle knees the guard in the interrogation room. There is another pretty bad glitch (where the scene goes blocky for a second), but this is a recognised compatibility glitch. The two pauses are a mystery though?

what player have u got ?

I have had similar experiences with Swordfish & Driven (both Warner titles!) on my Pioneer 444 (yes i said Pioneer, believe it or not:()
Only happens when u watch a complete movie, not when u go back to that point & play again

Ditto with a Pioneer DV-344 and one head-turning shot of Lesley Ann Warren about 50 seconds to one side of the layer change in The Limey (R2). Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

You've watched Terminator 2 four times in less than a month?

I get picture break up a lot on MGM discs, but then I have a PROline 1000 :(, the discs are always fine on my DVD-ROM which really ****** me off.

Resource: No, it's the original Terminator I'm talking about, haven't had chance to watch my T2 yet, only had it a day.

My player is the Panasonic A160.

If you've got some DVD cleaner try giving your disc a wipe and see if it still glitches. Chances are it's just dirt or smudges on the surface.
