My old Dell Dimension T600 will only boot from the Floppy, or HD.

In the BIOS there is an option to change it to the CD Drive, but when try to select the option, it appears to have been disabled???

Basically, I want to format the HD and do a clean install of XP from the CD.

Is there anyway I can do this? eg via a DOS command?

Thanks

You could try getting a Windows 98 or ME boot disc (floppy), boot from that and select load CD-ROM drivers to access the XP CD.

I think www.bootdisc.com is the site to get bootdisks from.

Edit: it was the site but is now closed, so try http://basti007.free.fr/bootdisc/

Here's a link to the M$ site so you can create the XP bootdisks
