View Full Version : I see why they call it ripoff britain
i've just been looking at audioreview.com for some reviews on 36" tvs,a guy in the US posted one on a 36" philips saying how good it was for $700 at Costco, that's under £500,why are they £1400+ here then,i'm getting really cheesed off with this.

You sure that wasn't a 4:3 TV? Still cheap though.
Mind you, that was prolly for his bedroom as they all seem to have 87" RPTVs in their 'Family Rooms'.
There's also a load of crap posted over there, so don't take everthing as gospel.

I don't believe everything I read,I was in Costco in Orlando a couple of years ago,50" RP TVs were under $1000,everything in the shop was at least 25% less than in a UK Costco.
The thing that cheeses me off is when you look at US or Euro prices for most things they're cheaper,I imported a transit from belgium last year, contacted the dealer to arrange another one this week,Ford have increased the prices by 20% to block imports.there is still a saving but not enough to make it worth the bother.
So much for a single market,it's single as long as we don't try and buy anything:brickwall
I was looking at a 36" Phillips on QEDs website £1395 last week £1522 this week, are there any better deals on 36"tvs around.
