I thought this offer at Game (http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/pan/TrackerServlet?p=12813&a=60823&g=80187&url=http://shop.game.net/browse.aspx?cat=10316) was good (a Silver PS2 & 2 games for £110 deliverd) but Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002O9VCW/thedvdforums-21) have the Silver PS2 for only £95 delivered (£10 Cheeper than the new RRP).
Amazon has the updated Xbox RRP for preorder with the free game as well!

Basically, Gran Turismo 4.
I already have an Xbox (and PGR2) but am tempted to get a PS2 just for GT4 mainly because it has an accurate Nurburgring track and lots of cars with adjustable suspension etc. The 'Ring in PGR2 is not very realistic.
Anyway 95 for the silver version seems pretty good.
anyone played burnout 3 demo on both ps2 and xbox. i loved the cube versions but going "down" to the ps2 (as 3 isnt coming out on cube) of the newer one seems like it will be bad? i presume the xbox version is much lovelyer

Hmm... I've been after a PS2 for a while now (for the Final Fantasy games and Devil May Cry etc.) but I've been waiting for a considerable price drop, having been shafted when the SNES was originally released! I now NEVER buy a new console within it's first year or so. But I do buy the odd game in preperation, if I see certain ones I'm after cheap.

Those are probably worth £25-ish, so it's a great deal. :thumbs:

PS2 is the only option if you need Multiregion playback - you'd need to mod the Xbox to get MR playback for DVDs.

spent ages trying to track one of these down and found some last month at simply games for £144. Thinking they didn't make the silver ones anymore I went for one.

Sorted, been after an xbox for a bit but was eagerley awaiting a price drop. Should go nicely with an xecutor 2.3b me thinks :-p
Just hope its one of the new versions though, 1.6 wud be nice.

just to add, remember the silver ps2 comes with 2 controllers, I think controllers are about 20 quid seperate?

I have Burnout3 demo for PS2 and its very impressive graphically. You won't be disappointed in either the PS2 or XBox versions.

Aren't they harder to chip? I got a 1.1 from the Sainsburys deal a few months back and chipped it with a solderless Xenium ICE, very easy.
Why would you want a v1.6? They're more difficult to mod, although they are pretty much garanteed to come with a Samsung drive.

The reason we didn't 'pick you up on it' is simply because we had not seen it nor had it been reported. You can affiliate these links but they don't work the same way as the usual Amazon links. I have affiliated the links in both this thread and the other thread linked above :)
I could do no more than try to affiliate, I was going to ask for future reference how you do affiliate those type of amazon links but I suppose if I need to again i'll just let you know.
Last time I used the 'report post' option (someone had multiple classified threads) I did'nt get a reply so I thought i'd used up my jobsworth credits :D
Either that or whoever was on duty was kipping :)

Think its just the samsung drive for me. But saying that looks like am gonna get one and hope for the best!
