There could be a chance that some of the titles will get a 2002 release. If you look at their current 2002 line up, there's a distinct lack of "western favourites" when compared to their 2001 line up. Some of the titles on Jenz's list just might even things up a bit!

and i'm sure Jenz mentioned in the BnB forums that 'The Killer' (which is candidate for no: 1 on that list IMO) would see a UK release in the first half of 2002....HKL will most likely filter the biggest of these titles into their current 02/03 schedule...

thats what I'm hoping for anyway :D

I've always wanted to see Bullet in the Head, and the news that The Killer - by far the best action film ever made - is coming in what can only be the definitive edition is absolutely the best DVD news I've heard all year!

Bedfords right, should've waited a little longer to post that list, but still, head over to BnB to read the full press release from HKL that sadly says there is no schedule at all as of yet...

the 18th title lark is to do with Jenz originally saying there were 18 titles on the NDA, all but one of them has been officially announced so HKL are obviously still negotiating over another title (please let it be God of Gamblers)...

great news all round though - Bey Logan, John Woo and Chow Yun Fat in a commentary box - please sir, let it happen :D

The only thing I hope is that no more are released cut like Iron fisted monk, a well respected company like HKL should release uncut versions, have to agree that the list should have been delayed, just get over to Jenzs site, its superb.

Yes this cut and the ones in SITES and Eastern Condors are annoying but there is nothing HKL can do about it if they want to release these films in the UK, they have to cut illegal scenes (animal cruelty, excessive/violent rape), there is no choice in the matter. I would rather have these films on excellent DVDs with minor cuts than not at all. Still I hope that there are no more cuts in the future.

it could just be my connection but BnB would appear to be getting pounded with hits right now with errors all over the place! maybe posting that list here wasn't such a bad idea :)

as for the cuts, tbh, they don't really bother me - its more cuts to the storyline/comedy etc that bugs me with HK films and in this respect HKL can't be faulted....

exactly, HKL do not make cuts to trim the story like certain other distributors and no HKL disc has any action cut either. They only cut when they have no choice. Unlike Miramax, New Line etc who hack their Jackie Chan and Jet Li titles to shreds.:mad:

Given the huge hype about the new titles that have been kept under wraps for an absolute age, I kinda foolishly got the impression that there would be HKL (or a new rival company) getting their hands on both Drunken Master 2 and Fist of Legend.

Oh well..............

The list does look like a Ringo Lam, John woo and Tsui Hark coup as well as Chow Yun Fat.

Lets hope the DVDs will turn out as good as the present collection rather than the cropped and mandarin dubbed only early releases.

There are at 5 titles there that I will buy straight away.

Most of HKL's titles have been closely linked with what the great Made In Hong Kong label released on VHS with the exception of the Shaw Bros titles.

Just a guess - but are the two companies somehow linked?
