OK i seem to be having a bit of bother here. When i open my folders on my desktop they appear to be empty though it still tells me on the bottom left hand corner the number of items that are in it but i can't see them. All my icons such as AOL are working fine. Even the My Computer folder appears empty. The only way i can acces my files is by going into the program hey were created with and file open from there where everything seems normal. Can anyone please help????

Regards
Bryan

I've got a feeling there is a virus that hides your files but I don't know anything about it. You could try googling it...

That's really strange. I don't think I've heard of anyone else having that problem before. Neither can I find any Windows Explorer option that would come close to hiding all the files everywhere.

Unless... Do you have multiple users set-up on your machine? Could there be some security settings at work here?

Apart from that tiny straw, I'm at a loss.

Bit of a long shot, but do you have your machine set up to "show hidden files"? If not, open Explorer, click on Tools>Folder Options>View then make sure there's a dot in the "Show hidden files and folders" entry. It's possible (though I've never heard of it happening) that the attributes of all your files have changed to "hidden".

could be a graphics bug, have you tried rebooting ? :D

or reinstalling gfx drivers.
