Spotted this on the teletext site :-

Review by Paul Arendt

Michael Bay takes a long hard look at US history, says "the hell with it", and shoots a celluloid atrocity whose every minute - and there are 183 of them, remember - is a weeping welt on the soul of humanity.

What can you say about a film that stages a historical massacre like Luke Skywalker's assault on the Death Star?

Life's too short to see Pearl Harbor; in the time it takes to unspool, you could watch two good movies instead.

:D:D:D:D:D

that review there may be funny (and true) but in general i've found that the teletext reviewers Paul Arendt and Victor Olliver wouldn't know a good film if they saw it.

They are not very good reviewers at all (maybe that's just because i disagree with like 95% of there reviews :D)

"Well done"?

Because after all to the Japs that was exactly what it must have been like!

I still think that Pearl Harbour had some outstanding moments. But then people do like to jump on a critical bandwagon...

Well it's easier to jump on the bandwagon than it is to actually put a little thought into it, besides it makes you look cool to slag off movies everyone else is. Especially if it's a Hollywood monster.
Despite all the slagging it got, it was still one of the biggest movies of the year.
