Workgroup computer problems

I've managed to get both my computers to recognise each other as far as my wireless network connection goes but I'm still having a problem networking.
When I go into my network places (on my laptop) and view workgroup computers I get the message
"Home is not accessable,you might not have permission to use this network resource.Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permision"
I am the administrator and have been allowed to do everything else so I'm stuck.
My main computer only shows itself in that section also.
Any help?

You need to have an account on each computer with the same name and password in a workgroup. Also is windows file and print sharing enabled on each computer?

How do I do that?

Both computers have the same workgroup name in properties.
Is that all I need to do?
I've redone the network wizard and still no joy...

I've not had probs with seeing the workgroup without setting up identical users. Do you have a firewall?

I dont have a firewall.
The problem is that if the laptop wont recognise itself then the main computer wont recognise it either.
As I said,I have an excellent signal for my connection so that's not a problem.

How is the network setup? What IP addresses are you using and how are they assigned, statically or via dhcp/ics?

I'm using 192 . 168 . 0 . 2 on my main computer and 192 . 168 . 03 on my laptop.
I don't know how they are assigned.

The main problem is getting the laptop to let me view workgroup computers on my laptop.

Someone from Microsoft was meant to call me between 6 and 8 this evening but didn't.
Any help?

Microsoft called but can't look again till monday.
Anyone got any ideas in the meantime?
