Damn This Pda Please Help

HI ALL

i just got a xda in a trade and am gonna keep it while i am getting use to this and that there is one thing that is really bugging me



i have pocket divx on it and pocket tx i do not want either of these versions on

BUT I CANT DELETE THEM

they are in the programs section in rom anyone know how to do this please

they are 2 progams i wont use and can sqeeze some more mem space


also looking for a free batt and card utility to tell me what i have left

I don't know what these programs are as they are not on my PDA (Sony Clie), but if they don't show up in the delete list, then they are probably built into ROM as part of the system like address book and todo, etc., and cannot be deleted.

Just my thoughts, I may be wrong.

For your battery and card monitoring, try FileZ (freeware) (http://www.nosleep.net/). It does what you want and more.

SPB Pocket Plus allows battery and card information to be displayed on the Today screen as well as some other handy stuff:

I'm pretty sure that pocket divx was not part of the os of my Axim when I had it, so you could use the built in file manager and delete the programs if they don't show up in the add/remove list. Alternatively you could do a hard reset which would return the ppc to its virgin state, but remember to back up your contacts ets first.

Or try using Kaisoft Deinstaller first :)

But a hard reset is probably what I would do anyway.

this is a xda that was on 2002 but been upgraded by proevious person to 2003


am using that spb plus very nice shame i will have to stop usin it in 2 weeks when it runs out as i simply cant afford to purchase it

Nah both Pocket Divx and tv are both downloadable programs so you should be able to delete them

right theres are the steps i am doing being new to pda i may be doing wrong


1. going to the remove programs and nothing shows

2.tapping file explorer>windows>inside ther are 2 files ,pockettv 754k and pockettv27b

hold on the stylus to bring up menu and the delete word is not even highlighted allowing me to select it

ok sorted it i spoke to him on msn and found he had used a cooked rom where you make youre own rom and include files in it


he gave me the site so i just recooked it using same rom but no installed progs

mods still not answered yet so i dont know

i dont think the site is illegal as the roms are all from official providers and the programs you can add into the rom are freeware or still need to be registered

ill send them a link and see what they say
