Are the S series of Canon digi-cams more pocketable then the A series. I already have an A80 but do find it bulky to carry around and was wondering if the S50/60 series would be a better option. I originally got the A80 for the manual options but hardly ever use them except the P(rogram) option to set the camera up as I like. Your opinions on the above would be welcome.

The S50/60 is slightly more pocketable than the A80, but only slightly! I have a S50 and would not class it as a pocket camera like the smaller Ixus models. The S50/60 is a superb camera though

S-series are kinda semi-pro cameras, more advanced than the A-series, although the A's take some cracking pics as well. Ive had the S30 for over 2 years, and the S50/60 will be a higher spec version of this, so I would recommend it very much. Theyre not that small but a little heavier than the A-series and use their own battery, so AAs are no use. Something else to bear in mind.

If you want something truly pocketable get a Canon Ixus. Especially as you don't want all the manual options

Teh S60 is a brilliant camera, like Kryten I would thoroughly recommend it.

It is pocketable if your trousers are not too tight but only for little periods and as long as you don't mind a huge bulge.

I have a huge bulge anyway so it doesn't matter.
