Tonight I got home to find my router had been hit by the storm today. It has no power but nothing else on the extension lead got hit by the storm.

Anyway, I figure it's time to use a surge protector. I've seen the four way leads which would be good but I need something with a longer lead so was thinking if it is possible to use one of these

SurgeCube (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=200908&pcount=&Product_Id=134993&Section.Section_Path=%2FRoot%2FPowerProtection%2FSurgeMas%2E%2E%2Eange2003%2FHomeSeriesRange2003%2F)

and plug my extension lead into that. Is it only designed for one item or would it work with an extension lead?

I use the Belkin 4 way extension lead, and my cable modem still got hit in a storm, although it still powered up.

Might have spiked down your Telephone wire if it is a ADSL / Cable Router

I use a UPS much better protection
