Total DVD says (and Amazon UK confirms) that a four disc Mummy Collectors Ed will be released on 1st December.

I am fed up with upgrading my Mummy stuff BUT does anyone know the specs, i.e will both now have DTS.

They both come with DTS tracks - if you want to look at the extras of The Mummy then look up the UE of it in R1 or R4 as it is identical to this. You only really gain a DTS track and a couple of extra little bits and pieces!

That's the problem. I have the UE R1 (great DTS track) and R1 Mummy Returns. But I so love the packaging on the new one!!! I am very sad.

If you're sure they are both DTS then I guess of to the classified forum I go. Do you know where I can look at the specs?

This Mummy Collection set may look nice, but isn't Mummy Returns cut in the U.K?
If so, stick with your R1 until next year, when the exact same set comes out on R4, fully uncut & a lot cheaper no doubt.

Thats right, first prize to the man who likes DTS. But don't be surprised if a trilogy pack comes out when The Scorpion King is released. Me i'm sticking with my The Mummy UE R1 and The Mummy Returns R4.

The R4 release of Mummy Returns has a DTS track & is uncut, it'd be cheaper to just replace your R1 with that. Mind you, you don't get the fancy-pants packaging. ;)
