Does anyone know where I can get hold of a good quality single female rca to twin double male rca connector for a sub?
Thanks.

Ixos do one of those ... but couldn't find it on their website. You might try www.hifistore.co.uk. If it isn't listed, give them a bell. Saw it for about £8 in Global Hi-Fi in Newcastle.

Try Maplin - they have it listed in the car hi-fi section
Ixos do 2 different ranges for sub cables, I know because I'm trying to decide myself! They do an Ixos 1081 Twisted Subwoofer interconnect, which I've seen at £9.95 for a 3M (can also get 5M and 9M), and they do the 1141 Gamma Audition Subwoofer which I think was £29.95 for 3M from Sevenoaks (also available as 5M cable). Dunno what the audible difference is but the more expensive one seems a thicker, better quality cable all round. If anyone has any experience of either then maybe they could help out? Otherwise, true to form I'll just buy the more expensive one in ignorance! :D
PS:- It's a one to one connection, just plug it into your mono sub input. Don't know about splitting it as I haven't seen any good enough quality RCA splitters.
sideshowbob: I used to have an Ixos one - someone stole it! I emailed them about getting a replacment - no answer! I will try ring hifistore at the weekend. What are they like as a company?
Richard Ansell: Bit dubious about the quality of the Maplin one! I have quite an expensive system and don't want to ruin it with a dodgy connector.
Marcw: I think you misread my question. I don't need the cable I already have it. I just want to split the signal as my sub has two rca inputs and works better if it gets both signals!
Keep the ideas coming. I am due to get TPM next week and want to shake the walls a little more:D

HiFiStore are a good company ... so I've no worries about dealing with them.
If you wanted to try www.globalhificentre.com they are good too and like I said earlier, they do carry that item in stock. Their number (for ease of reference) is: 0191 230 3600. I am only assuming that they will ship to you and not charge a great deal for postage.
Hope this helps. FWIW there is certainly an audible difference (on my sub at least) when using the stereo inputs, rather than the mono one ... I seem to remember someone saying it equated to a 6db gain (although my memory does fail me on occasion!).
sideshowbob: What a helpful guy you are! Cheers.
I will give global a bell at the weekend. Hopefully they can ship me one out straight away.
I have a Rel sub and it does make one hell of a difference using both the inputs. If I hadn't of lent my original interconnector to someone I would be in this situation!
I have just bought some B & W CDM 9NT's and wanted the rest of my system to be correctly wired before adding them.
Isn't life hard :D

You're very welcome ... hope you get sorted. CDM9NTs, eh? Ya big show off! (Can't find a jealous smiley!)

I wouldn't be jealous. I just have a big problem buying music and gadgets!
(Although they are superb speakers - along with the Denon A1 amp I no longer need to go to the cinema and endure kids with laser pens!;) )

ixos have one of these, we stock them but don`t think it made it to the new web site:( Also try a local Maplins, they have similar cables a lot cheaper. Does your sub not have twin (split) inputs?
