I've currently got a Sony PC1E mini-dv camcorder, that I've had about 5 years. It's been a good camera, but looking at the picture compared with some of the newer ones (especially in low light) seems really poor.
So I'm looking for a new camera, in the price bracket of under £900. I still want it to be of the mini-dv format.
Is there any cameras which have a fast turn on time? My current one probably takes a good few seconds to switch into a record mode from switching on - most of the time sounds like it's doing something with the tape. I find with this delay, I often end up missing the particular shot I'm looking for. It's nice and quick starting recording if you've already got it switched on.
I'd ideally like it to have a real widescreen format for recording if possible.
Any suggestions.
