Anyone know anything about it??.....Is it worth investing in??.....can you actually copy dvd's on to another blank dvd...all information would be appreciated
At the moment the maximum capacity of domestic DVD-R is 4.3GB. Current movies average between 6 and 8GB, so data capabilites are currently limited. Soon they will release an affordable Dual layer recorder which will be able to record up to 8.6GB. This will allow you to make a BACKUP of your dvd movies. You must bear in mind that blank dvd media in England is still very expensive in fact more than a retail DVD in some instances. Over in Japan they are only £5 which is due to there being alot more commercial recordable standalone players available and the format is more recognised. I would recommend that you wait to buy a dual layer recorder as opposed to the current single layer models. If you want high capacity removable data storage and to backup your playstation games then the current models are great.
