View Full Version : Bulk SilenX Fan Order from USA
Recently I have been looking to buy a case fan for my Shuttle SN45G and have decided that for me the 80mm SilenX fan is probably the best, however I can only find one place in the UK which have them in stock @ £12.95 which after shipping is nearer £16. I refuse to pay £16 for one fan.
In the USA they stock them for $13.95, which is a considerable saving, however the postage is about $23.50 which makes it pointless to order just one.
I was wonder if there are others in my shoes who will be wanting to go in with me and do some kind of a bulk order. Register you interest here please!

If this is in the wrong forum please move.
Are you looking at the SilenX 80mm 14dBA Fan? You can get similar spec Panaflos for about £6.
Dont forget if you do a bulk order from the states, you`ll end up being hit for customs tax & vat etc... etc... so it will probably workout cheaper to buy the uk ones anyway!
thats true, I think i'll just order a vantech stealth instead then...
oh well.
The Panaflos are rated slightly louder than the SilenX but most reviews say that they're quiet

I have a panaflo in my SN45G - it's very quiet. Pity the PSU sounds like an aircraft taking off.

Vantec "stealth" fans are not quiet, they claim to be but there anything but stealthy. I've got 3 21dB Panoflo's in my case and there very quiet and if it wasn't for my Enermax PSU my system would be pretty much silent.
Ok, I've ordered a Panaflo now. I'll compare it to the vantech and return the one I don't want.
I can confirm that Vantec Stealth fans are anything but quiet, go for the panaflo.
Which is the better from these two Panaflos?
Panaflo 92mm L1A
or
Panaflo FBL 92mm L1A
and what does "mounting lugs on exhaust side only" mean?
Also, where a fan is 4-pin, does this mean it connects directly to a molex connector from the psu? If so, how do you get something like that to run at say 7v considering leads seem to deal with 3 pin fans?
Finally, are all Panaflos non-tacho? If so, are they any use for a cpu fan considering you've no idea how fast they're running?
Also, is it possible to solder a wire to the third connector to make the rpm readable?
