I've just seen that the freeview EPG on our Sony DL10 IDTV is now showing 24 hours worth of info on the EPG (this is in the Bromsgrove area). It takes about 5 seconds to populate the list and it is a bit sluggish to navigate through it atm. I've heard reports that other transmitters around the country are rolling out the EPG in 24hour/4 day/8 day versions.
Excellent, same is showing up on my Sony freeview tuner box :D
Cheers for the headsup kiran_mk2!
4 day EPG on my Pace Twin from Sandy Heath.
I've been checking from time to time (Now & Next is useless so I don't use the button often), but had given up.
Takes minutes to fully populate but is quick to navigate - hope the population time comes down.
Do you need to run an update on your box to get this (I still see the old ondigital layout).

Do you need to run an update on your box to get this (I still see the old ondigital layout).cedge - from Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds15128.html).
Set-top-boxes and TVs that have been upgraded to be able to receive the increased amount of data should start showing it over the next few days. Un-upgraded equipment will continue carrying now-and-next 24-hour data as before.Edit - if you cannot get an upgrade then there is some hope - apparantly there may be an MHEG EPG at some time in the future. Apparantly old ONDigital boxes could get that. Some discussion here (http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=143105&page=1&pp=25).
Discussion of the rollout over on Digital Spy Forums (http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=143118&page=1&pp=25) (includes list of transmitters currently broadcasting).
As far as the PACE Twin goes - it's limited to a 4 day guide as per the latest update. The Twin caches the data so it stays there - slow to update, but doesn't need to update so often.
Hmmm.. so would this work like PDC if you had a programme set up on the timer smartlinked to a VCR (with Sony equipment)?

PDC works via analogue teletext doesn't it? In which case no. You'd be better off getting a TiVo if you can and bin the VCR (or go Sky+)
I've not checked my Freeview (Setpal) box in a while as it's on the bedroom telly (main telly is Sky Digital:thumbs: ), so I better power it up and see what happens.
Just found this site too which shows details of what's changed in software updates, but the last one was back in June...

Not sure if this helps, but as long as your freeview box is outputting the right channel - you may be able to manually set your VCR to record from the input at the time of the show.

Mine is working but it isn't sluggish. I am in bournemouth. Do you have the latest firmware? I can't check the firmware i have but the update happened in June 2004.

Our software versions are both on 2.00 (I think that was the June update). Rumors are Sony is planning another update next month. Just pleased to get any kind of EPG TBH.
I'm guessing that if you set to record something then it depends on the type of tv/box you've got as to whether it cuts the end off. Our TV puts up a bar across the top of the screen at the time a new programme is scheduled to start, more often than not before the previous program has finished - I'm guessing the recording would finish at this point which isn't too brilliant.
Here's hoping TiVo make a freeview pvr that combined all the old features (season pass etc) with the EPG.
cool, full channel listings for free! Sweet!

There are no plans for any more UK TiVos.

I'm also in Bournemouth but on my brand new Panasonic plasma with freeview. Although it shows the capability of 7 days it only allows 24 hours. Is that correct?

I am on Sandy Heath and so far haven't got anything on my Panasonic TUCT30. I just have now and next as before. This has a 7 day EPG.

I don't know if my Panasonic TUCT20 supports it, but nothing has changed on my box.

The 7 day is just on (or should be) the TUCT30.
Well I don't think Rowridge on the Isle of Wright is broadcasting the EPG as both my brand New Panasonic & my almost new Netgem, have any more than now & next.
In Belfast on my Pace DTVR it takes ages to populate the full 7 day listings list. Once this list is populated does it then get saved or does it have to repopulate everytime? Seems like a waste to me !

Rowridge is braodcasting the EPG because that is where i am picking up digital tv from. And according to this (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds15128.html).
Do you have a Sony? With the latest Plasma with freeview & supposedly the best freeview receiver, the latest Netgem why don't I get anything but now & next on both?
