Well, I sold my old VHS tapes to someone ages ago - about April this year - who sold junk. I had about 36 VHS tapes - I got about £1 a tape. I got three DVDs for that money.

VHS aren't worth nothing now.

Bear in mind though, if you use Film Vault (http://www.filmvault.co.uk) you have to have a minimum of 75 pre-recorded tapes and they'll only take stuff that has a BBFC certificate, and is in good condition.

I'd reccomend ebay - shifted quite a bit there - some things went for very impressive prices - my 2 tapes of Game On went for more than it cost me to buy the DVD to replace them.

As popular as DVD is here - there is still a massive amount of people out there who won't be switching for a while - hence the still very high price of VHS.

How much d'ya reckon I would get for about 400 good quality VHS films?
