dvd recording

I recently brought a pioneer dvd recorder. The problrm that im finding is that an average dvd film is between 6 and 10 gig. and the only media i can get hold of are 4.7 gig dvd r's. i was wondering if there is any way that i can use a 4.7 gig dvdr to record the whole film and not just half of it. is there any compression software that i can use on my pc. please help me, thanks nick

The only thing you can do is take away the extras and put them on a nother DVDR unfuntuanlty. Rizel
