Anybody know what's going on with the Region 1 release(s) of the above.

I decided on Region 1 because Rewind had a favourable comparison which stated that R1 had Behind the scenes/Deleted scene script & storyboard/TV spots and Production notes that R2 didn't have and I got a copy at the Memorabilia show on Saturday.

Unfortunately my copy doesn't seem to have Behind the scenes/Trailer/TV spots, although I've seen reviews of the disc which sometimes mention that there's no trailer and some that mention that there is. Amazon list the trailer, as do Discemporium, who I'd bought from. The trailers pretty good, but I got it on a freebie disc anyway, so I'm not that worried.

To confuse things more, on Saturday, I also saw a secondhand R1 Artisan disc, which didn't have the commentaries listed on the box.

Anyone know

Well, I've just bunged my R1 copy into my PC & it definitely has all those extras you've listed above. This is what's listed in the Special features Menu:

Trailer & T.V Spots (Inside this you'll find: Theatrical trailer, "the way", "doors", "the trouble", "just one", "donor alt")
Audio Features
Storyboards & Script of Deleted Scene
Cast & Crew
Production Notes

Behind The Scenes isn't listed in the special features menu, but if you select Production Notes, you should find Behind The Scenes in the very 1st page of the production notes.

Also the case I have definitely lists all the extras (Including commentaries) present on the disc. Check my DVD profile for a picture of the case if you want to compare it to the 2nd hand one you saw. The special features are listed in the black box in the top left corner.

BTW I pre-ordered my copy, so i got it the day it came out, so if there are copies out there that don't have the behind the scenes & deleted scene, then maybe the disc was re-released??

Mine's got the same UPC code (don't you hate it when that happens), but definitely doesn't have TV spots/trailers/behind-the scenes listed on the box, and doesn't have behind the behind the scenes accessible through production notes. The cover looks identical apart from the missing listed features.

I think that the other one that I saw had the Artisan logo in a different place and had fewer extras in the black box on the back. Def. no mention of commentaries, so it looks like there might be three different types.

It crossed my mind that the one that I'd seen without the commentaries could've been a rental copy, but I don't know if they have rental windows in the States.

They do have rental windows in the states, but normally a rental copy is bare bones. It would be a bit weird for them to put almost all the extras onto the rental copy.
I got mine from DVDBoxOffice, so maybe there's a difference between the Canadian & American versions? Mind you, if mine was Canadian & yours American then they should have different UPC codes shouldn't they?
It's a bit weird that no sites have mentioned it.

We have rental windows for VHS.

To date, no US DVD has suffered a rental period - unless you count the DIVX fiasco of a couple of years ago.

I only thought that it could be a possible rental version, 'cos the R2 rental had a few extras on. Cast interviews, trailer and stuff.

Might send a note to The Disc Emporium, as I bought it from them and there website still lists other extras on the disc that's not on mine.

Ahh! That's corrected me then! Yeah, I thought a couple of films had been given rental windows in the states (Fight Club, Meet the parents) can't think where I got that idea from.

There's definitely 2 R1 versions - I thought they were Canadian and US?
