Anybody got any good tips or recommendations on a spanking pair of headphones for use with both late night sessions with PS2 and DVD's.
They're strictly for use at home, so they can be as big or as ridiculous looking as you like.

I've been reading alot about the new 5.1 headphones. Although sounds a bit iffy to me. Do they work and are they as expensive as I suspect they are?

Any tips, links etc would be much appreciated

Just get whichever Sennheisers you can afford/like the look of - a pair of good 5xx series should set you back about 60-70 quid these days.

Good advice - the outrageously good HD580's are available from www.unbeatable.co.uk for £59.99 (plus around £8 postage) and they'll be selling them all day at this price. Were £200 originally and some places are still asking in exces of £150 for them.

For what it's worth, the HD590's haven't been that well received, and consensus is that the 580 is a better 'phone. The HD600's can be had for £99.99 (were £250 originally) from Richers (amongst others) but they rarely have any in. From what I've read there's very, vey little in it and you should be more than happy with the 580's. Just be aware that they are very revealing and can show up a poor recording for what it is.
