Folks...
I've got the French double-disc edition of IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, on order, but flicking thru Empire last night, a seemingly identical version is being issued by Tartan... so, am I wasting my time and my precious heroin money on the French disc ? Word around the campfire says that the French disc is pretty great - housed in a FIGHT CLUB-esque cardboard thingy, and a fine transfer too. Does anyone have the skinny on the tartan edition? how does it compare, transfer wise and packaging ?
Thanks...

The discs appear to be identical, although the Tartan edition is not as prettily packaged as the French release. The Tartan release was discussed here (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28647) in the DVD and Movie Forum.

There was some concern that the Tartan disk was advertised as having DD2.0 sound while the French release is DD5.1. I'm not sure if anyone ever confirmed or denied this.

The French set is beautiful. I wouldn't swap it for a Tartan edition unless money really matters here.

Noel - that's pretty much what I wanted to hear - the french edition is hurtling its way in my direction even as we speak, so I'm really looking foward to it...
Thanks mate !
