Ben Hur aspect ratio ?

According to the DVD packaging it's 2.70:1 but I'm sure my widescreen video was 2.55:1.
Have they found some more picture from somewhere. 2.70:1 must look bloody skinny even on a 32 inch widescreen.

Ben Hur is the widest widescreen film. It was filmed with a ratio of 2.76:1. The R1 dvd is 2.76:1
