Guys... I'm hoping someone can help me with this :
All my snapper cases are starting to show their age with wear n' tear. I'm going to order some discs from Australia - where lots of Warner titles are issued in regular cases, so my question is - Are any of these issued in snappers -

2001
Full metal Jacket
JFK - 2disc directors cut edition

Go on, make my day...
please !

Welcome to the forums http://members.tripod.co.uk/nickhorton/anims/smiliewave.gif

You want the DVD and Movie Forum though, which is where this is about to go....

But personally, I love those little snapper darlings http://members.tripod.co.uk/nickhorton/GreenSmilies/tongue.gif

Don't know about two of them but I do know for definite that JFK two disk is in a Double Alpha case. Bought it about a month ago from devoted (www.devoted.com.au) for a smidge over £10 delivered.

Moya - Try here for some replacement Snapper to Amaray covers (including JFK, 2001 & FMJ) - DVD Cover Art (http://www.dvdcoverart.com/).

Now with the money you've just saved, you'll need some Amarays to put them in - just click my sig. :D

Almost certainly they're Amaray, because the rest of the Warner Kubrick collection in Aus are. I haven't got 2001 because I went for the Metrodome repackaged boxed set instead which worked out at £18 (shipped) instead of £40 in the UK (far more than it's worth, but £18's not bad for a nice box, gimicky film cell & leaflet + the CD soundtrack, and makes up for the shockingly poor "extras" content - i.e. zilch).

Full Metal Jacket is the only one I haven't got now because I'm waiting to see if they'll do the Metrodome boxed set in R4 also (i.e. cheap). They've done them in R1 & R2 (R1s being under Creative Design Arts) along with Clockwork Orange (got the crappy snapper R2 I bought a while back :( ).

Snappers suck. I keep getting them pre-scratched & scuffed in the post and I'm amazed the postie hasn't crushed one yet by standing on them (some are just in jiffy bags and so easy to crush them). Oh, and someone argued that snappers are far better at holding the disc on the spindle... rubbish! Just had one in the post that's come off it's spindle. Thankfully it didn't get scratched but I think I was lucky.

They're cheap, tacky, easy to damage and encourage certain companies that use them to release flipper discs instead of 2-disc sets (okay the only bonus with 2 disc is picture discs and the feeling that you're getting more for your money, which is probably worthwhile when such companies release bare-bones discs).

P.S. For info, R4 Warner Amarays are clear, not black.
