Free Xbox when you sign up for NTL Broadband
Basically this link gives you Free Xbox, Xbox live free for 2 month`s, Free Midtown Madness and free Live headset..
You have to pay a £50 Set-up fee but it`s gotta be worth it to someone

I would love to say this is a bargain, but wherever NTL is concerned, think twice.
I can only speak from my own experience, when I cancelled my service in Dec 02, it took until April 03 for them to disconnect me and that was only because I didn't pay the bill. And then they sent the baliffs after me for the the subs from Jan 03 until Jun 03. It took me nearly a year to sort it out.
All I can say, is think twice.

Well, no catch as such. You can't sign up for any other NTL offer for 3 years if you go for this one, and it's a 12 month minimum contract (£150 charge for the xbox if you cancel before that).
So:
£50 setup + 12 months @ £24.99 = £349.88
Good deal if you want NTL cable, poo deal if you don't :)
a very great eye catching header but not really a bargain as such. Add up all the cost..........

If you quit before the 12 month contract is done, then you're liable for the £150 cost of the XBox.

XBOX for £120 without NTL broadband seems more of a bargain.

you can down migrate to the 128k service after 1 month cant you ?
I'd have to agree with the comments about cancelling NTL, we got ADSL in our area, so tried to cancel the phone/net deal we had with them. We sent a recorded letter to the address they gave us for cancelling, phoned up to confirm the cancellation, and a couple of months later, we got a letter asking for payment, and they had no record of cancellation when phoning them, and were stubborn about it.

Could you change the header of the thread to "Free X-Box with signup of 12 months of NTL" or something similar?

Done :)
If you dont have broadband and can get NTL cable and dont have an Xbox (and want one), this is a decent offer.
The downside is that NTL is involved. 30 day SLA's for customer complaints is a joke and when they finally get in contact they wont even bother reading your complaint.
Saying that, NTL cable broadband is an excellent product.
Been with ntl for over a year now and never had any problems which werent resolved quickly after a couple of minutes on the phone, maybe they are just better in Belfast.
NTL = worst company in the world. AVOID. Even if they were giving away ownership of microsoft i'd still say avoid with it being NTL......

I've been with ntl since moving (about 5/6 years) and never had any problems with them. Even had a couple of free upgrades off them, and currently got 600k half price for 3 months. We had a problem once with the connection dropping occaisonally but they got an engineer round and fixed it.
I think it's very dependant on where you are as to what kind of service you get from them as you do hear of a few complaints. Personally I couldn't be happier with them.

I'm also in the Belfast area, been on NTL broadband for over 3 years now and never had a single problem, couple of hours downtime once in a blue moon but usually fixed within a few hours.
If I didn't have Broadband or an Xbox i'd definetly go for this deal

We were very happy with them and their service, until we tried to cancel :(

Yeh good deal, I've been on ntl BB for about 4 years. Never had any problems with them at all. The bad CS is just a myth now i think, if you got any kind of complaint or issue they will happily credit your account or give you the service free.

Hmm yeah, no probs with NTL here... I have heard bad things about them, but I think it just depends on your luck.
