View Full Version : Scream 2 - Music WTF?
Why did Wes Craven decide to use Hans Zimmer's Broken Arrow score for all the scenes involving Cox/Arquette.
I know this has been done in other films but not ones that are like 1 year apart!
Completely astounded me and thus resulted in me ferreting through old MD's trying to confirm the rip off, rather than watching the rest of film!

Yes, I noticed that I heard the music somewhere else but couldn't place it, untill I asked on one of the message boards a year ago or so, and it is indeed from Broken Arrow.
Well, the music is great and fits the scenes perfectly, I'm glad to hear it
If I remember correctly Craven mentioned this in the commentary; they had used that music clip during tests and liked it so much they decided to license it and use it in the final cut.

I listened to the commentarey a few days ago and this answer is spot on.

I love Broken Arrow... and I love the Scream trilogy... I thought this was brilliant! I have to say that the first time I saw it I was speechless (lots of pointing and grinning though)! I was aware that it spoofed Boken Arrow (thanks to the IMDB) but they judged it brilliantly...   :D
Note: I am really sad...
watched the rock the other day and was suprised how similar the galdiator score was to it, makes me wonder how many new ideas zimmer actually has.
