Does anybody know if the Acer TravelMate 8006 has actual VRAM in it?

The acer site seems to suggest that it's shared memory, but the sites which are selling it say it has 128mb VRAM.. anybody know if this is right?

Also - Is this spec any good:
CPU Type Centrino Pentium M
CPU Speed 2GHz CPU
RAM 512MB
Hard Drive 80GB
Display 15 inch TFT display
Video Chipset ATI Mobility Radeon 9700
Video RAM 128MB
Optical Drive DVD Supermulti
Operating System MS WinXP Pro
Wireless LAN Built in Wireless LAN 802.11g 54Mbps
Bluetooth Built-in Bluetooth
Weight Kg 2.88

Worth £1399.00 ex vat?

Anybody got one? Is it good enough for games?

Thanks for any help!

Seems like a very good spec lappy, didnt even know 2ghz centrinos were about yet!

The ram is probably separate and if it is indeed what you say then yes it will be more than capable of gaming.

My dell 3.06ghz with 64mb fx5200 gfx can play battle field and add ons, farcry, and ut2004 quite easily.....its just the hard drive that lets it down with slow load times...

thats good to know :-) Thanks.

What does this mean: ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON™ 9700, with 128 of frame buffer on-chip,

the 128 buffer on chip bit really?

Is that to do with the 128mb of ram?

i believe so, my fx5200 has 64mb on board ram, so 128mb is probably on the gfx chip.

Maybe do a google see if there are any reviews?

If it's a Mobility Radeon 9700 then it will have it's own ram and wont use shared system memory
