i just got this today and sat down to watch it and on the opening credits i noticed the film was produced by michael dougla. i was sure it was michael douglas so is the print cropped or is it my telly hacking the edges off this?
it's the region 2 version FYI

It was indeed produced my Michael Douglas. His father Kirk had bought the rights a few years earlier but Michael was part of team that finally brought the story to the screen. :)

The UK Region 2 disc is badly cropped. Never see people mention it but it is cos I took mine back (one of the first DVDs I bought).

Get the Region 1 disc if you can.

I think it would be best to wait until the special edition is released next year. I'm sure that The Digital Bits had this down as being in line for a special edition in 2002.

No it wouldn't be best :)

This is a wonderful film and the Region 1 DVD is pretty good. I don't get people who 'wait for the best version' all the time. This DVD is available at under £9 so there's no reason to hold off watching it (if you've not seeen it). I've watched my disc 3-4 times so it's paid for itself.
