It is to fix the middle click action under OSX - currently it does not function at all. Someone has already written a patch to fix it, but the devs don't seem interested in accepting it. So I'm trying to drum up some more votes for it.
If anyone can't suss out the (rather intimidating) form I'll provide instructions to help. (not meaning to be insulting to anyone here :))
