I`ve always liked Jet Li`s movies in the past(Swordman 2, OUATIC 1&2&3,Fong Sai-Yuk 1(2),Fist of Legend, last fight in The Bodyguard from Beijing and Black Mask. His unique fightingskills is just amazing. But as he came over to the US the movie companies suffocated his way of fighting. It`s like they won`t let him fight to good -the slow "white" people he often fights must get a chance to hit him.And as Bruce Lee had to do, in Enter the Dragon and in the Tv-series The Green Hornet, Jet Li must slow down his way of fighting. Why ????That`s because the people with the money(producers) belives that the viewers in the west(white) supposedly can`t manage to see all the moves during fighting.
Romeo Must Die was a insult,Kiss of the Dragon-well due to a lot of reading of negativ feedback from other forums i didn`t see that movie. And now The One- supposebly bad fighting and not an easy script to follow with rumors about massive cutting to make the movie shorter-run time of about 80 min.If this is true, this movie will fail in making money and the future to Jet Li will be less bright. If he don`t get a serious role in a movie with solid producers and a good director then his career will lead him to the direct-to-rent-video genre. That will be a great loss to the fans of Hong Kong movies.

Check out the post I started here for some hope about Jet Li - http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29184

To be fair, Jet Li's Hollywood career is pretty good considering.
Jackie Chan is only just making waves now .
Romeo Must Die is actually a pretty decent flick imo, & Kiss of the Dragon is supposed to be one of the most violent martial arts films ever to come out of mainstream Hollywood.
Even if Li bombs out big time in America, he'll just go back home to China (which he already has done) where his talents can be used to maximum effect.
