Looks like this episode could never see the light of day again (http://simpsons.about.com/library/weekly/aa092601a.htm ) on ANY format :(
What do you guys think, should it be released or is it in bad taste?
EDIT: Look at the poll on that link, 90% want it to be shown so far!!
Well I really hope that won't be the case, it's one of the funnier episodes around.
Its a shame, man. That was one of the last extremely funny episodes, before they went down hill.:(

Fantastic episode. They should treat is as a tribute to release it.
Homer's "D'oh!" ringing out over New York, what a laugh :D

Gotta agree with that, would be a nice tribute.
This is my favourite episode, mainly because two of my favourite things in the world came together, Simpsons and New York. They had better show it again.

Awwwww :(,
Am I the only person who hasn't seen this episode.
And what makes it worse is that everyone I know tells me it's an excellent one, even people who aren't big fans of the Simpsons.
Let's just hope they change their minds about it in the future, maybe it time for the release of that season on DVD :)
BTW which season is it in?

Season 9 - so the DVDs are likely to be a long way away, and by then this hysteria would hopefully have died down.

just imagine if the Special Edition of Escape From New York got cancelled.......DISCUSS!!! Will this be released or not??
I noticed that sky edited an episode the other day. It was the one where Homer wants to lose weight with the subliminal learning tape, but gets the vocab one instead. When Marge phones up to order it there's a scene where she imagines Homer as a hostige negotiator and it was totally removed. It's understandaple i suppose but very sad to think it may take years to see fully unedited eps again:mad:

While we're on this topic, is it true that the master and broadcast copies of the "poisonous letter glue" episode of Seinfeld are being destroyed because of the anthrax scare???
I guess that means they'll eventually be deleting the Cubans episode too (it ends with a hijack of a place if you remember...) :(
Surely the smart option would be to avoid broadcast for a set length of time while sensitivities are still so raw? Losing a part of such a high-profile series forever seems a gross overreaction.
There's all this talk of "fighting" the terrorists by getting back to their daily lives and not allowing them to get the better of us or the Americans, but this hardly seems in the spirit :(
They should have been removed from broadcast for a while but I dont think things should be pulled just because they feature the WTC. Sure, if it's in a terrorism context then it would be pretty offensive but....what was my point?.....oh yeah, this Simpson's should STAY! Removing reference doesn't make this tragedy go away or ease people's pain - what better way to feel good than watch the Simpson's :)
