i'm moving house in a couple of weeks and i'm thinking of getting bulldog 1meg BB, is anybody with them? what are they like? don't want to get it then find out it goes down all the time.

also i've been told i need a router to share the connection between 2 computers, but i don't really know much about them. My housemate set up all the network and stuff in my current house so i didn;t need to know how it was done.

anyway i need a router that has a firewall built in and i can forward ports on for a p2p program, does anyone have any recommendations? i don't want a brilliant one thats dead expensive, just something thats alright and isn't too expensive.

cheers

I've got the Bulldog 2Mbit Primetime and it's been pretty good so far (2 months). I actually get ~200K on some sites, usually when downloading new levels for Enemy Territory.

I'm using a Netgear 834g router (54g Wi-Fi) which was around 90 quid. Not the cheapest, but an excellent top-brand router.

Do a search on this forum for other ADSL modem/router recommendations.

Dunno re: ADSL, but I'm using a linksys BEFSR41 router.
Built in firewall, easy as pie to set up and I've had no probs with p2p.
Cost me 50 notes, but can be had cheaper now.

i had a look at the linksys one but i don't think it has a adsl modem. are there different routers for cable broadband and adsl?

does anyone have any more recommendations cos i've still no idea which are decent and which aren't; and i don't want to end up getting the wrong type or something. Its got to have an adsl modem, built in firewall, 4 ports and preferably cost less than 50 quid.

i tried a search on here but all i could find were recommendations for dead expensive ones.

anyone? :help:
