We have broadband in our house (the curse of Tiscali no less)
Mine works fine. Unfortunately my housemates doesn't.
he can log on for about 10 minutes then both lights on the modem go out and it just dies and you have to disconnect and connect again.
Its ben suggested that this is a power problem and there's not enough power to run it. His computer is a "made-up" one which is twice as powerful as mine. I assume there is a way to fiddle with the motherboard to give more power to that application w/o using a HUB?
He has also been told by Tiscali that the length of line connecting his computer to the socket will effect connection. I think this is rubbish (it may effect speed but surely not power?) but then again I'm hardly an expert.
any thought?
its the sagem 800f@st modem thingy. he has windows 2000 pro
