I've read that this is due for release at the end of this month but apart from seeing the trailer played once about 4 or 5 weeks ago i've seen or heard nothing since - no ads in the film mags and hardly a word about it on the web which is strange because the trailer is fantastic.
Has this been bumped to the new year or are we going to be seeing it soon?

sadly its been delayed till the 14th June in america due to recent events....I should imagine the UK release will also be next summer.

That's some serious delay.
Kinda strange that it's an MGM film as well because their remake of Rollerball was bumped from its summer slot although that is because it is reportedly a pile of steaming crap (see new article on the excessively non-violent version on aint-it-cool).
Least there is going to be plenty of potentially decent stuff out next summer (Hopefully)

AT one of my marketing meetings I was informed by the distributor that Windtalkers has been delayed to the summer 2002. They felt the finished film was worthy to attract the attention of the summer box office cinemagoer. ...and I was informed of this prior to the climate generated from the sept 11th tragedy.

yep, you're right RST. Just remembered what I read, Terence Chang (producer) said that it had little to nothing to do with the terrorist attacks and was purely a marketing decision (i think it has something to do with the fact that films aren't making a whole lot of cash right now since the events though)....

whats even worse is they're determined to stop is showing prior to next summer as it was scheduled for some film festival over here (think the London one) but they recently pulled it last minute :( not that I would have gone though :D
